Our History
The charter officers of Ridgewood Chapter were installed at an emergent communication of The Grand Chapter of NJ on January 30, 1909.
The chapter was instituted that night and was known as Ridgewood Chapter U.D. (under dispensation) until they were constituted
on October 20, 1909

Shown in this 2008 photo is the former First National Bank building on East Ridgewood Avenue. The current conference room
on the upper floor of the building was the Masonic Hall and where Ridgewood Chapter met when it was instituted. Meetings
now as then were the 1st & 3rd Fridays of the month.
Current photo of the Y.M.C.A. Hall, Ellison Street, Paterson, where on October 20, 1909 the 40th Annual Session of Grand Chapter
of NJ of the Order of the Easter Star met and Ridgewood Chapter was chartered. The MW Grand Matron stated, "On October 1, 1909, we
visited Ridgewood Chapter, U.D. To say that I am proud of this Chapter does not begin to express my feelings. I was overwhelmed with
the way in which the work was rendered. If NJ ever had a banner Chapter, Ridgewood, U.D. will reach that height."
